In order to increase the value of the Significant Oil and Gas Fields of the United States Database for our customers, Nehring Associates has created working relationships with two other vendors – IHS Energy, and Rose & Associates – to develop additional tools for analysis.

IHS Energy

Nehring Associates has developed a Field Cross-Reference Table that ties together the three national field code systems – those of Nehring Associates, IHS Energy, and the Energy Information Administration (EIA). This table enables our customers to relate our field and reservoir data with IHS Energy’s well data. The Field Cross-Reference Table is designed to facilitate spatial analysis (using the algorithms that have been developed in recent years to create field and reservoir outlines from well data), the creation of per- well recovery distributions within fields (for comparisons of similar reservoirs and fields and the evaluation of unconventional oil and gas reservoirs), and the description of development histories within fields and reservoirs (which can be correlated with field and reservoir growth, production histories, and discovery histories). A detailed description of the Field Cross-Reference Table is provided HERE.

Rose & Associates

Nehring Associates has a formal cooperative arrangement with Rose & Associates, the leading provider of integrated exploration and production risk management tools. Our KnowNow retrieval system can be used to provide inputs for Rose & Associates’ software, such as Toolbox (to view and analyze the data in distribution form) and prospect risk analysis programs MMRA and Risk Essentials (to compare prospect parameter values to actual values from field reservoirs). Nehring Associates’ play definitions and building blocks for analysis provide useful inputs for Rose & Associates’ PlayRA. Nehring Associates and Rose & Associates also conduct ongoing discussions on the conceptual foundations and data needs of upstream risk analysis.
